Financial Aid at Trend Setters School
This page gives a general overview of the types of financial aid available to Trend Setters students. Some options are only available to students who qualify. Consumer Information Disclosures
Additional information regarding program information, student debt data, graduation rates, sexual harassment policies, campus crime statistics, job placement rates, and more is available on our Consumer Disclosures page. This information has been determined compliant with the U.S. Department of Education’s standards for Title IV eligible programs. Students are encouraged to review this information before applying to the program.
Federal Student Aid
To be eligible for Federal Student Aid, a student must first fill out a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). To complete a FAFSA, students will need a FSA ID and the Trend Setters school code (######). Students can access their FAFSA electronically with a PIN provided by the Department of Education. Pell Grants
Pell Grants may be available to applicants demonstrating exceptional financial need, and who do not already have a bachelor’s degree or higher. Unlike a loan, Pell Grants typically do not have to be repaid.
Direct Subsidized and Direct Unsubsidized Loans
Subsidized and unsubsidized federal student loans are available for eligible students to help cover the cost of tuition. If eligible, the amount you may borrow may not exceed your financial need. Federal student loans must be repaid after graduation at a predetermined fixed interest rate.
Direct PLUS Loans
Some parents of Trend Setters students may be eligible for Direct PLUS Loans to help their child with the cost of attendance. Direct PLUS Loans must be must be repaid by the parent / borrower at a predetermined fixed interest rate. Parents may choose to defer payments on a PLUS Loan until six months after the date the student leaves school or graduates.
Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant
These grants are for students who are not eligible for a Pell Grant, but who had a parent or guardian who, as a member of the U.S. Armed Forces, died as a result of service performed in Iraq or Afghanistan after September 11, 2001.
Additional Financial Aid Options
Veterans Administration Benefits
Active and former members of the US Armed services may be eligible for tuition assistance through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Interested students are encouraged to contact their local Veterans Affairs (VA) office, or visit the VA website to learn more.
Vocational Rehabilitation
The state of Missouri offers tuition assistance for qualifying applicants who have been prevented from finding, keeping, or advancing in a job due to a disability. Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) counselors determine each applicant’s eligibility for services on a case-by-case basis. Institutional Scholarship
Many local nonprofit organizations, businesses, and schools offer institutional scholarships to cover part or all of the cost of tuition. These scholarships are often awarded on academic merit or volunteer service. Students are encouraged to apply for as many scholarships as possible prior to enrollment.
Trend Setters School is pleased to offer scholarships on a rotating basis. Scholarships are a one-time discount awarded to all students beginning a program with a given class date, regardless of prior academic performance. Institutional Loan
Some private financial institutions may offer loans to cover part or all of the cost of tuition. Students interested in private loans are encouraged to secure financing with an institution before enrolling with a program. Trend Setters School does not offer institutional loans under any circumstances.
